This site is dedicated to reforming government policy regarding the subject of State custody of Unclaimed Funds. We plan to accomplish the following goals: 1. Educate the public on the existence of misplaced public funds. 2. Recover money owned by government agencies currently being held by the Division of Unclaimed Funds. 3. Prevent further funds from being lost. 4. Recover funds owned by nonprofit organizations providing educational, medical, religeous or social services. 5. Initiate legal reform to increase recovery of private funds held by state governments. 6. Serve as an advocate for private citizens who have had difficulty claiming funds owned by them. 7.Provide a model for grass roots policy reform. Each of these goals are explained in more detail below. Please read on to learn more about us and what we are accomplishing.

Understanding the Problem
Ohio law requires a variety of commercial entities such as banks and insurance companies to turn over to the state any funds that have remained in their possesion, dormant, for several years. The purpose of the law is to put the State in the role of a custodian, protecting the assets of its citizens until they can be located. Amazingly, several hundred of the accounts held by the state in this custodial capacity are actually owned by other agencies of state government, municipal and county governments, as well as school districts and the federal government. These funds, owned by you the public, are not be used for the purposes they have been collected for such as improving schools, roads, or other services, but are instead sitting in an account waiting for the proper agency to claim them. In many cases years go by before the proper agency processes the required one page form to receive its money. Meanwhile those agencies continue to collect tax dollars from you and me, and in some cases continue to misplace those tax dollars. This reform group is dedicated to correcting this cycle of mismanagement. href="http://www.fortunecity.com/">http://www.fortunecity.com/
